Neighborhood and Commercial Patrol
If you feel unsafe in your own neighborhood, or there have been alarms triggered in the area, an armed security guard from Security Service Systems in Los Angeles, California, will patrol the area and keep you safe. If our guards see anyone suspicious on the property, or an individual who should not be there, they are able to execute a citizen’s arrest.

Residential Patrols
We currently provide armed patrol services to 15 communities that receive 24-hour emergency service and alarm response. If you are going out of town, vacation services include us physically walking around the property, picking up junk mail, and taking in garbage cans to ensure that no one knows your home is vacant. Clients receive signage in their yard alerting others to their protection.
Commercial Patrol
Small business owners with commercial patrol services receive 24-hour monitoring and alarm response that can be tailored into a package to meet each individual client’s needs. Guards perform multiple scheduled checks in a 24-hour period and remove homeless and unwanted individuals from the property.
Patrol Vehicles
Our security company is one of the few in the area with uniformed armed guards in marked patrol cars. All of our cars are fitted with a GPS, which provides guards with turn-by-turn directions to the location of the alarm for the quickest response.
How Neighborhood Patrol Works
A dedicated patrol subscription is different from an alarm system. An alarm tells someone that something has happened. A patrol puts a marked car and a uniformed, licensed officer on your street around the clock — before anything happens, and within minutes when it does.
Our patrol vehicles run 24 hours a day, seven days a week across the Westside. Every car is GPS-equipped, so when a call or alarm comes in, dispatch sends the closest officer with turn-by-turn directions to your address rather than a general area. Dispatch is staffed locally and around the clock — not an answering service, and not routed out of state.
Because our officers work the same neighborhoods every day, they learn the streets, the residents and what normal looks like. That familiarity is what lets an officer notice the car that does not belong, or recognise that a resident is away.
Residential Patrol
Neighborhood patrol subscriptions are shared by the households on a route, which is what keeps the cost reasonable — coverage starts around $30 a month depending on the neighborhood.
A subscription includes:
- 24-hour random patrol in a marked vehicle
- Response to any subscriber call or alarm activation
- Vacation watch — mail, newspapers, door flyers and trash bins
- Yard sign and window decals
- A direct dispatch line for subscribers
Commercial & Event Patrol
We also patrol commercial properties, construction sites, parking areas and private events across Los Angeles.
Commercial clients typically want scheduled overnight checks, lock-up verification, or a visible deterrent during a specific period — a construction phase, a vacancy, or an event.
Officers are licensed under PPO 16006 and ACO 6266, and both armed and unarmed coverage is available depending on the property and your preference.

Patrol vs. Alarm Monitoring — What Is the Difference?
Most homes on our routes have both, and they do genuinely different jobs.
Alarm monitoring detects an event and notifies someone. If your alarm is monitored by a national company, that notification usually goes to a call center outside California, which then contacts local police. Police response times to unverified alarms in Los Angeles can be long, because verified emergencies take priority.
Neighborhood patrol puts our own officer on your street. When a subscriber’s alarm activates, we respond ourselves — typically within minutes, because a car is already in the area. Officers coordinate with LAPD and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department when a situation calls for it.
When we handle both your monitoring and your patrol, the alarm and the response are the same company, which removes the handoff entirely.

Common Questions
Do I need an alarm system to subscribe to patrol?
No. Patrol is a standalone service. Many subscribers have no alarm at all, and many have alarms monitored by another company.
How quickly do you respond?
Because a marked car is already working your neighborhood, response is usually a matter of minutes rather than the wait associated with an unverified alarm call to police.
Are your officers armed?
Both armed and unarmed officers are available. All are licensed and uniformed, and operate under our PPO 16006 and ACO 6266 state licenses.
What happens when I call?
Dispatch takes your information and sends the closest patrol unit. You are speaking to our own dispatcher, not an answering service.
Can I pause service while I travel?
Rather than pausing, tell us you are away and we add a vacation watch — extra checks, and we clear mail, papers and flyers so the house does not look empty.
How do I cancel?
Call or email. There is no long-term contract on neighborhood patrol subscriptions.
